About ReckonBuild
What we do
ReckonBuild builds calculators for the moment you are standing in a driveway or an attic trying to work out how much material to order. Every tool is mobile-first, works with gloves on, and shows a single large result number rather than burying it in a report.
How we work
Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted, stored or sold. We publish the exact formulas and constants used on each page so you can check the math against your own reference, and we expose densities, waste factors and unit prices as editable fields because real projects rarely match a national average.
Where our numbers come from
Default constants come from commonly published industry figures: 27 cubic feet per cubic yard, 2,000 pounds per US ton, mid-range compacted densities for asphalt and aggregate, and typical R-per-inch values for insulation materials. Default prices are broad national ranges intended as a starting point, not as a quote for your market.
All results are estimates for planning only. Costs vary by region, season and contractor, and nothing here is a quote or professional engineering advice.
